U.S ATTACKED; HIJACKED JETS DESTROY TWIN
TOWERS AND HIT PENTAGON IN DAY OF TERROR
Buildings Burn and Fall as Onlookers
Search for Elusive Safety: Yesterday at 8:46 on the 11 of September, 2001 the U.S came under attack. The World Trade Centre in Lower Manhattan, New York, the Pentagon in Washington, DC and a Football field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania were targeted and hit by four Hijacked Boeing 767 Jets. There were people scrambling for cover, some hid under cars or other people, others confused, unsure whether to go indoors or stay outdoors, some even contemplated leaping into the river for safety. People in Lower Manhattan had a front row seat and witnessed the unthinkable horror unfold. ''I don't know what the gates of hell look like, but it's got to be like this,'' said John Maloney, a security director for an Internet firm in the trade centre. Robert Pachino, another witness in lower Manhattan said ''It was a large plane flying low, There was no engine trouble. He didn't try to manoeuvre. This plane was on a mission.'' It is not yet known who the attackers are but it is speculated that they are members of the worlds most dangerous organisation, Al Qaeda. Exactly 56 minutes later there was an ear-splitting noise. The south tower shook, seemed to lean to one side and then began to come down, imploding upon itself. ''It looked like a demolition,'' said Andy Pollock. Cellphone and other Footage taken by surrounding witnesses have been uploaded onto the internet and examined by many theorists and already, one day in, many conspiracies have arisen, some grabbing a lot of attention. The terrorists were said to be armed with "Number 2" Craft Knives, although it is not known how they took them through security. Firefighters from the New York City Fire Department rushed to the World Trade Centre minutes after the first plane struck the north tower. Along with other organisation such as the American Red Cross, who were immediately on the scene supplying victims and witnesses with water and blankets.
